I have two adaptors one with a hole (never notice) one without. Both work. Wear a glove a tighten the apapter to the regulater first and then then Sodastream bottle to the Adaptor as quickly as you can. There is some co2 emissions but when tight it should stop.

It's not like mine which connect to mini regulaters. I think you need to adjust "plunger" but I'm not sure how. Try going on YouTube and putting in Sodastream adaptor adjustment.

I’ve looked at it again and in the back is a screw thread which pushes valve bit in and out. So I’ve pulled it out. That makes be it.

Sorted. There was a screen that needed loosening in the adaptor. Coolio. It’s now showing just under 1000 psi.

Can you explain that in a bit more detail as I had the same problem as you and gave up trying to sort it. As I screwed in the Soda Stream bottle it just continually let the CO2 out of the bottle?

Sure. If you look at the back there is a small screw fitting. So by loosening that the pointed valve head that releases the gas is less protruding. So basically you adjust it so the cylinder makes a seal just before opening the cylinder. So if you loosen it too much when the regulator and cylinder are attached no gas will flow. So by trial and error you tighten it a bit at a time until gas is release. Either au at this point it wills quiet gas so you have to tighten it quick See photo
