Why would u want to use a conical fv
Is there any real advantage other than easy to get off the trub

I think that's it really. Packs the trub into a smaller volume, so less wastage of usable beer, also handy for yeast collection if fitted with the means to do so

Also reduces surface area on which the beer is sitting.

As you get to much larger vessels, it makes cleaning easier as the bottom of the cone is the drain valve. But at homebrew scales where you can just up-end it over a sink that's not an issue
