We won 2 U20 tournaments in as many days (an U20 team made up mainly of and U18/19 players won the Toulon Tournament yesterday), which is some going!

Did anyone actually get to watch this tournament? How many knew it was taking place prior to our advance from quarter-final stage? How many of the players are likely to kick on and command regular first team berths at top-flight clubs? What's the odds on any sort of 'golden team' hoo haa fizzling out in 4 or 5 years as it just doesn't quite happen.

Congratulations to the lads, for beating Venezuala in the final (wtf?).

Sorry to cast a negative note, but I fear that football in this country is knackered. The millions roll in and out, but the national team isn't even of tertiary interest.

I didn't even know this was going on until I'd read they'd beaten Italy in the semi-final. It hasn't been covered by the news at all.
