Here's the new schedule for the new year. same as last year unless there's any objections. If you fancy judging please post which month. It is key that you pre-read the Rules, especially around judging within two weeks of closing date (end of each month)

I really enjoy doing this & get lots of inspiration from it. Put me down for March freestyle please.

For those that are unsure about judging or entering, I can promise you the judging is not as daunting as it sounds. I've always given honest feedback even when a beer hasn't turned out as intended & everyone has always received it well. Equally, getting feedback from someone you don't normally share your beer with has helped me tweak my process & recipes & made my beer better. Get involved!

Really poor showing last year from Me, I think I only entered 2 comps, dark lager came second early in the year. Hopefully I can get back at it again this year.
I will judge the dark beers in October if it's free, any new judges want it I don't mind stepping a side

I’ll be trying to enter a few more of these this year. Need to get in the habit of bottling a few when kegging each batch.

Feedback has been really welcome when I have entered, glad to see its running again

I’ll take lager in November.

Based on my previous experience, I’d suggest any Baltic/Tropical porters would be better entered in the October dark beer comp. The pale and amber lagers are hard enough to separate and give a fair comparison to in a head to head.

I'll echo what @brewhaha has said. There is nothing to be afraid of with judging. It's largely getting beer sent to you and then drinking it, picking what you think is the best 3 and telling the brewer what you thought of it. All feedback (including negative) is well received by the brewers. And you have plenty of time to "practise" if you want to get more experience .

Why not, I’d be up for giving it a go. Should say I think others would maybe be better placed and get more out of it, but will happily take August or September if no one else does

When I keg I always bottle the first and last few litres as they tend to not be as clear. Keeps the kegged beer nice and clear and you get a few bottles to keep.
