Got my BdG bottled up yesterday. Planing to brew on Wednesday, but as No2 son is heading off to Oz for a couple of years this summer, it’s going to be the nitro Irish Red. Going to send him off with a couple of his favourites in the kegerator.

My eldest is just back from Australia, he's teaching out in Sydney.

Class, must be great to have him back for a bit. We potentially will have 2 over there in a couple of years. No. 1 son graduates from med school this summer, and like anyone with any sense is planning to get out of the UK at the earliest opportunity.

(It really is that bad. Those greedy ba5t4rd junior doctors are striking for less money per hour than his uni dropout younger brother earns working in a bar in Belfast. Not that the Daily Mail ever report that angle.)

He's back for 5 weeks for a family wedding, it's great seeing him again. Unfortunately I can't see any of my son's staying in the UK or Ireland. The second eldest is just waiting on his results. He was doing a masters in civil engineering. I can't blame them, if I had My time again I would move away as well.

@pilgrimhudd California Common. Not sure if it’s supposed to be this Cloudy, it has been in the Fridge for over a week I’m thinking it needed longer.

It had a floral, herby aroma when opened, poured with a far bit of carbonation and a good head that lasted throughout. Quite malty with a bit of a toasty flavour and again it was herby/spicy not floral at all (not sure if it’s meant to be) overall an enjoyable pint. I don’t think I’ll be brewing one as it’s not for me.

@SMP Brewery Helles Bells, lovely drop. Pours nice and clear, frothy head which last pretty much the whole glass. Nice flowery/bready aroma, a good level of bitterness but behind that there's some nice hop lavour and malty sweetness. Can't make out the hops but am guessing something noble.

Really well made beer, not my favourite style but if I could easily drink this all night. Cheers for sharing!
