Urban planning is sadly never as interesting as videos by conspiracy theorist would have you believe. with this primarily being about traffic management within Oxford, (the fifteen minute idea is basically that people living within Oxford should ideally have access to most local facilities for day to day live, I.e. Schools, GP practices, shops within about a fifteen minute walk.

There are also proposals for trialing traffic filters as a congestion easing measure, you will still be perfectly capable of travelling across Oxford although may have to take different routes, as with anything in Oxford related to traffic this has being controversial. There is no plan to lock people into sections of the city.

I know a secret route to get into the westgate car park given I only visit once every few years and thus paying £££ rather than using P&R is ok. Hate to live there though. I did see colin dexter going into waterstones, (no doubt to check on how his books were being displayed ) this is quite a few years ago. I commute into Oxford via train for work (thankfully only one or two times a week these days) and while it is a lovely city it is also a Medieval city with lots of narrow roads, and very limited parking basically like many cities of it‘s vintage it just isn’t built with cars in mind, hence the need to do something to limit the volume of traffic going through the city.
