Hello,

Made a bit of an error, I forgot to wash out one of my 5l growler kegs after use.

Just slipped my mind, and as I have been bottling most of my beer over the last few months, it has been sat for awhile. After a quick swill, there is still a bit of visible residue on the bottom.

I think it needs a bit of a soak to remove whats left, however I did read that certain types of cleaner can damage the steel? I usually santise with Chemsan, but obviously I will need a something that will clean, not just sanitise. I have SureSan (which I think is Sodium Percarbonate based) and VWP to hand. Are either of these suitable?

Thanks

Stay away from the bleach. Don't use with stainless steel.

Give it a soak with PBW or sodium percarbonate, rinse thoroughly and starsan.

I'll let you do the reading about bleach and stainless steel

Yep, thanks for that.

I did read that bleach probably wasn't the way to go. I shall give it a soak with sodium percarbonate.
