Hi all, doing a 1 gallon cherry syrup turbo Cider, using 4 litres of AJ and half a Lowitz cherry plus all the other ingredients.
How much yeast do I need? One 10g sachet is good for 5 gallons so will 3g do the job? I can keep the rest for other brews or do I need more?
Thanks

In my turbos I've been using the CrossMyLoof cider yeast which according to their website is in 5g sachets and says it's enough to ferment 5 gallons. I normally split one packet between 2 x 1 gallon demijohns and it does the job.

I chanced my arm and put 3g in, it's started, and bubbling away nicely!
I used Mangrove Jack's Cider yeast has anyone else tried it?

Well I am pleased to report that 3g of yeast works a treat and the Cherry Cider turned out great, I'm really pleased with it! No overpowering yeast taste at all.
Next one I'm going to brew is a Lowitz Raspberry and Lemon Cider.

I did 50 litres with a 5g packet of Wilko cider yeast and it ripped it up. It just doesn't seem to struggle with those simple sugars. I'd have gone for 1g.
