Mick, just a thought as a result of your post of 11 August. When I lived in the UK, and did not have my own press, I used to take my apples to a press to have them pressed. Initially I took them to a home brew shop in Brownhills. Latterly I took them to a fruit juice producer near Redditch. Now I know that this was more than eight years ago and that neither location is anywhere near Chesterfield, but it occurs to me that either someone on this forum, geographically closer to you, may know of an individual or company that will press apples brought to it and/or a search of yellow pages, google or suchlike may reveal the existence and whereabouts of such an individual or organisation in your area. It's better than producing compost from a decent quantity of apples!
