I know you have all been helping me over the past few weeks with my first attempt at cider making.

Another issue has occurred. Left it for over two weeks and as some said the scrump and smell has now gone and fermenting seems to have stopped.

I have checked the gravity reading and get a reading of .995. Smells okay and tastes like dry Apple juice. But why is the acholic content so low ??.

I have stored it in the garage as its warm outside still and thought it would be too hot in the house.

Has formation stopped to early, do I need to bring it to the house ???

Do I need to add sugars to get the alcohol content up ??

Help

how do you know the alcohol content is low, what was the starting gravity reading ?

Think yourself lucky to get cider to that level, dry cider 0.997, only got mine to 1003 before the yeast gave up.

You can't I'm afraid mate, well apart from downing a few and seeing how p***ed you get 😉
