its been 7days now what the best way to do a hydrometer reading and what reading should i be looking for

my hydrometer only goes upto 995

Its down to 995. ;)

What do the kit instructions say? I would expect anything below 1000 to be acceptable but I just wait for fermentation to complete, leave it a few days and then bottle.

it says below 1000 and the reading is in the green how will i no when fermentation is complete

Fermentation is complete when you get the same SG on 3 consecutive days.

i was under the impression the same reading on 2 consecutive days meant it was complete? that, however, could explain why the bottle of cider i opened last night is fizzy as **** :D

i started my kit on the 23rd of july and there is still a few bubbles coming up it say it takes 7-9 days do i need to wait till there is no more bubbles before i bottle it.

As my rule of thumb, I bottle/keg after 10 days ferment.
In the keg I leave it to do it's own thing for 3 or 4 weeks.
I prime my bottles at the rate of 0.5tsp cane sugar per litre and leave for about 2 months.
Others will no doubt have different ideas!

I have been brewing my cider for a week now and it now reads exactly 1000 is it okay for me to pour into a keg? Also i never checked the hydrometer reading before fermentaion is there anyway of knowing the alcohol now? Also..... with my kit i got some gas bulbs to go into the keg, when do i put them in? and will i have to put more in when i pour some out of the keg?

I am currently sitting next to my cider anxiously as i am hoping i can pour it into the keg in a minute!!

Also any tips for the keg transfer? i have a tube that came with it.

Thanks

Conor.
