Cider kit and Old Rosie yeast?

I have a Muntons premium autumn blush kit ( 30 pints ) and wonderdmif I could use Old Rosie yeast instead of the kit yeast.

Obviously I’ve got to suss out how to grow on the Old Rosie yeast first but there seems to be plenty of threads on that… was hoping itwas as easy as just dumping the yeast from the bottle onto the kit but it seems not?


Also would it be worth considering topping up the kit to 40 pints using shop bought AJ or pressed Bramleys?

I think the thing about Old Rosie is to get a malo-lactic fermentation after the initial one, which gives the cider a smoother and less harsh taste.
Culturing up from a couple of bottles should be straightforward, but takes time, cleanliness and patience.
Adding Supermarket AJ to lengthen the brew is definitely an option too.
