So the missus has made the xmas cakes a while ago....and after having a root through the baking cupboard there is plenty of ground nutmeg, allspice and sweet cinnamon powders left...is this ok to use for a xmassy type ale rather than say cinnamon sticks etc. Have maple syrup available too
Was thinking of adding something with 5-10 minutes left on the boil.

Any suggestions/advice appreciated
 
I did a “gingerbread” brown ale a few years ago using supermarket spices and it turned out very nice.

Yeah for the last 5 or 10mins IIRC. I used ground ginger, ground cinnamon and allspice IIRC. I lost all of my old recipes when I changed phone just under a year ago so I can’t help much more I’m afraid.
