I bought her a horse last year  . . . . and told her that was it for any presents until she is 50 . . So nothing this year . . . or next . . . or . . . .

She's being good though . . . buying me a Kindle . . .it's the only way I can fit any more books on the shelves . . . and there are loads of old brewing books available for nothing (like Cobbs Cottage Economy of 18??something)

You lot have it easy... I had a very special request this year. For a bible with a butterfly on the cover! (she's religious, I ain't) ever tried finding one of them?

You mean like these Keith........

BUTTERFLY BIBLE

ANOTHER ONE

Like I was gonna get her the kids study bible! :D

Did you find any others? :wha:

Edit - Had to be the NIV version.... which kinda left me with one to choose from!

I'm sure mine said she wanted a 120l fv with a matching pid and probe.
I've been with Mrs V since I was 15 (23 years now  ) and I still enjoy seeing her face when she opens presents ...you're never too old, or too close, to lose that magic IMO.

Latest pressie...my sacks bursting :P :P :P

Wishing you good luck V. :thumb:

I'd be out with the dogs if I went down the "No present" route, for her birthday in May I built her a house, well, we moved in on the day (about 3 weeks early) and did not have time to get a pressie, I'm still hearing about it.
So tomorrow she will get breakfast in bed, a card and a necklace.

I must admit that I did give the ex a couple of mince pies I got half price from Sainsburys the other day . So much for Jack !

A present of that ilk would be classed up there with Flowers,,, it would be taken as an admission of guilt for some as yet unidentified wrongdoing and start off a furious and relentless inquisition

Sounds like a more subtle approach than Vossy's

Granted , granted ....but in my case she's an EX , remember , a discard (of discord)....the first and only one I have managed to be friends with again , but still an ex .

Had she been one of the previous , especially one of the redheads , I dread to contemplate the results of reduced mince pies . I found gold never went amiss . Couldnt go far wrong with gold .

Having worked 40 years in the jewellery trade my wife has received a lot of gold. When I worked on the bench, the first 30 years, I used to make her something most years that cost me very little as I used my own re-cycled scrap gold. With the big rise in the gold price recently she went through her jewellery box and pulled out pieces she feels she will never wear and I sold it scrap, I can get a price only available to the trade so she got several hundred pounds. So much for sentiment.

Now Christmas evening, been sober all day. I'm glad to say my son went to Belgium a few weeks ago and bought me a big box of assorted Belgium beers, 30 bottles, now on number 2, he knows what the old man likes.

Mrs Mc had opted for photo shugar and I opted for cycling gear.

Really weird this year as I havent got a bit of SS kit to modify  .

I could list options and mods i'd love to include, but its fairy dust this year as things really are tight so plans are modded

May the wind be ever at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And the rain fall softly on your fields
And until we meet again, May God hold
you in the hollow of his hand :drink:
