Hello all -

I was a little late brewing my Christmas porter this year and I should have enough time for it to condition to an acceptable flavour by xmas (although, it will probably reach its prime in February).

I've never racked a beer before and I'm asking for opinions on whether it will improve the conditioning of the beer if I rack for a week before bottling, or whether I should just go straight from PFV to bottle in order to leave enough time for the head to develop.

I'm ready to be persuaded either way.

(and yes, I realise timescales are tight and the proper answer to this question is get the beer on in September)

Get it in the bottle and onto the primer as soon as you can would be my advice mate - let the yeast do its thing with the sugar and let it condition that way.
