Tonight is Brew #4 Coopers IPA Bottling - the glug from the trial jar was encouraging to say the least, I have high hopes for this one!
Got 19 x 330ml "lady bottles" out of Brew #3 the Brewferm Christmas Kit which is now sat maturing. I hope I wasn't too late putting it on, I've seen people suggesting that 5 or 6 months is needed for this one... I also hope that my bottles are going to be able to withstand Brewferm's yeast. I've heard tell that it's a bit of a nutter and can produce heady ABV's and silly pressures! Eeek!
Brew #2 has turned out to be a revelation. A cheapo Youngs Harvest Pilsner Kit which fermented during that really hot weather in September/October time. It's a belter, really lovely beer - no idea how strong it is (I didn't take an OG reading) but it must be stronger than the mentions of it on the 'net, I can actually taste the alcohol in it and even one nicely chilled afternoon bottle gives a nice, erm, haze... :) At eleven quid for 40 pints you just can't go wrong!
Brew #1 Youngs Harvest Bitter is getting better with age, mellowing out a little and really quite drinkable, nothing to write home about but just a nice "home from work" pint.
Also took delivery of a stack of 10" crates (needed the biggest ones because I'm using lots of the Co-op's Freeminer brewery bottles - terrible job emptying all of those :) ) from Eric and Alex Baird. Lovely people to deal with, £6 a pop and a tenner to have them delivered to the door. Gonna need more before too long!
