I made this 3rd october and just had a tester
5.5 kg maris otter
chinook leaf 15g @ 60 mins
chinook leaf 15g @ 15 mins
chinook leaf 15g @ 5 mins
chinook leaf 15g @ flameout
chinook leaf 15g dry hop 3 days before kegging
irish moss @ 15 mins
mashed at 68c for 1 hour and boiled 1 hour
yeast : danstar nottingham.
Brewmate estimated 1049 at 70% efficiency, I got 1052. It also fermented further than the 1012 brewemate estimate, Mine finished at 1010, so approx 5.5%. (although the mash dropped to 65 degrees in the hour).
Its turned out really nice, a slight sweet biscuity taste , plenty of fruity, floral notes. I really like chinook.
Even SWMBO likes it :-?:-?
I will make this again if not just for its simplicity.
I did find that it was difficult to drain the kettle though, there being lots of trub, maybe that's a side effect of MO?
It still has a bit of haze, but I intended to leave it until xmas, maybe it will clear by then; I can live with it if it don't though.
