It's my first time brewing and i am using a beginners kit (Woodfordes Wherry) to see how I get on. Have barrelled the beer a week ago and realised today that i had used the wrong cap. I have used the standard cap instead of the pre-drilled cap with the valve for putting in the CO2.
What would be the best thing to do, can I replace the cap and when should i do that?
Have read that the beer in the barrel will not last as long without topping up the CO2 and be difficult to get out once I start pouring. Would appreciate your comments as I would not like to waste first beer brewed.
