Am about to dry hop a wherry after reading a 'tweak' on another forum.

Are pellets the same 'strength' as leaf hops, or do i need to adjust the amount of hops up / down if using pellets.

Thanks

You will get a better dry hop from pellets what with them being all ground up and having a higher surface area.

But I can't imagine that the difference is too huge. If this is your first dry hop then it's a leap of faith anyway, you aren't going to get a feel for what level you like until you've done a few.

Just go with the numbers you have for this one. :thumb:

You will get slightly better utilisation from pellet hops in the boiler.......somewhere between 8-10% IIRC.
Not really enough to worry about on our scale IMO, but if you are using brewing software for your recipes then you can set it for pellets and it will take the better utilisation in to consideration.
