Hi, in my IPA kit came a bag of challenger hops, it says to add hot water and mash up before adding, I have read that its best not to add really hot water just warm so I was going to do that but thought about maybe warming and mashing half for the bitter and dry hopping the other half for aroma. what do you think?

Apparently hops are often added at around 80°C for flavour and aroma so that the is aren't evaporated off.

You could try boiling a small amount in a hop tea for 20 minutes and add the rest for aroma.

its not an all grain kit, it was basically a bag of liquid malt a bag of glucose and packet of yeast with hops to then be added at day 5

Hi!
What kit did you use?
The syrup will probably be pre-bittered and the hops are for flavour/aroma.
I would get a fine mesh hop bag, sanitise it and put the hops in the bag then put it in the brew.
If they are pellet hops I don't much fancy the bits foating around in the beer - they'll be a bugger to filter out.

its the beerworks Merseyside dockers IPA, the kit says to add on day 5 all the hops after mashing and heating in water, draining then adding to the FV, but I wanted to dry hop some. I have muslin bags I can sanitize and add hops to, I also have a bag to put over my syphon to try and keep bits out of my bottling bucket.
