Ok, I work alot with cask ales..

I am currently working with cornie kegs but find that I dont get the 'natural' cask conditoned beers that I love. Some beer styles are designed for this such as many of the Yorkshire beers.

I have a 9G cask from my employer. Im not at the volume to do 9G per brew yet but I am interested now the cask are acutally conditioned?

I assume the casks are filled JUST before the beer reaches its FG or after full fermentation and with dry hopping? Dispite my Camra awards and Cask Marque I dont know the critical points from the brewery's side?

Anyone cask? Any advice? I dont really see the point in serving on hand pull from a cornie as its not naturally conditioned.. but I like the convience of draught beer.

Anyone?

You can pull from a cornie on handpull and have cask conditioned as long as you open the vent, the beer won't last long once you start to draw off it. option 2 is polypins.

To cask condition you crash cool around 2 points before final gravity then fill your cask to the brim (add finings to the cask part fill) seal up once brimmed, roll it around a bit, store in a warmish (fermenting temp place) then get it ready to drink after a few days conditioning, (put in cellar etc)

That is more or less what I guessed but I didnt want to waste 9g of beer. Im not at the stage yet anyway, so more research is to be done! Thanks.

As UP says polypins are an option. I've been using them for years, using a handpump for the last 2 years. A pin will keep at least 2-3 weeks once started. Its as near to a cask conditioned beer as you will find.

Thanks all. ...................another great idea :D
I have a couple of 5 litre wine bags, I'll give it a try, bet they don't last very long

I can honestly say I have never seen one of those before. More research is required!

Da, I thing you need to get out more, even I :? knew about these, used to put my HB wine in them, better filled with beer, which is the bit I hadn't grasped  ;) :D :
