I have finished fermenting my TC and it as stopped bubbling a few weeks ago.
My question is they are 1.8ltr pet bottles and i think i need about 3 tsps of sugar to carbonate.
this may seem a soft question but do i dissolve the sugar in the bottle or just put it in and leave it?
May sound soft but when you don,t know you don,t know.
also is the 3 tsps right for 1.8ltr pets.
Many thanks.

not totally sure for cider but beer is 1tsp per litre so that sounds a little high , now batch priming is the easiest but you need another vessel or bucket (sterilized) to do it heat water add sugar dissolve let cool add solution to new bucket/vessel add brew (avoid splashing) or just add sugar to bottles add brew , seal turn upside down , done , warmth(room temp) for 1 to 2 weeks then store cold for many weeks/months depending etc :thumb:

The best way to measure out the sugar is to weigh it. For cider I use 7g/litre and batch prime as described above. Using a tsp can lead to varied carbonation between bottles.

I tend to drop a small teaspoon-ish of sugar into each pint bottle (through a funnel) just before syphoning in the booze, the swirl that creates going in is enough to dissolve the sugar - and the yeast will still find any that doesn't dissolve and sinks to the bottom anyway.
For your PETS I wouldn't go above 2tsp, and would prefer 1.5

Thanks for all your help, i will try 1.5tsps per bottle and leave where i brewed it for a further 2 weeks.
great site always a friendly reply
Thanks
