Hi Brewers, was wondering if anyone can recommend a good affordable crown capper (preferably NOT the bench type as they are beyond budget)? Was looking at the 'Emily' but is it robust enough & does it cap most bottle types?
Many thanks in advance.
Brew on.

I picked one up from the homebrew company back in December. I ordered a 40 quid model. They got in touch to say it was out of stock and I got the 20 quid model and a 20 quid refund. Brilliant job and looks identical to the 40quid one.

Not sure how much a handheld is but 20 quid for a decent bench capper seems ok to quite stingey me

I have an 'emily' capper. Quickly moved on to 30 quid bench capper and regard the Emily as a 'buy cheap, buy twice' purchase......

Yeah, you can get the one about for £11.70 on eBay. Whatever you do don't get the Wilko one.

I've broken one of these....

I've not broken one of these....

Spending the extra £12 on the bench capper would have proved cheaper in the long term had I bought it first.

Also, I've ruined numerous caps and broken bottles with the first one, and not the second.

Another vote for the Homebrew Company bench capper: http://www.thehomebrewcompany.co.uk...ed-suits-26mm-and-29mm-crown-caps-p-2187.html

Bargain of the century ;)

Mick Dundee, RichK, Wilfy, Drunkula , Ciaran12s & Graz, that'll do, just the ticket, thanks for the link.
Sadfield, Haha, not surprised!
Oneflewover, thanks for the heads up.
