Be careful using the analysis that Scottish Water publishes. I've recently had my tap water analysed and it is notably different than what Scottish Water have published online for my supply from Glencorse 'A' reservoir in Edinburgh.

I was hoping to be roughly in the ball park with the numbers they gave. Can I ask where you got your water tested and the price it cost? Thanks

Water company reports are notoriously generic. Most will give an average for a whole area. I can recommend Phoenix analytical http://www.phoenix-analytical.co.uk/. He goes by the name of wallybrew on other forums and does reports for brewerys. The cost is £25, well worth it.

Isn't the secret to a really hoppy beer the additions u add during the boil? I can't remember the one I saw a month or so ago but the hops leading up to the end were astonishing. Then combined with a nice 100g of dry hop for aroma this surely would be a successful well hopped beer?
If anyone has a well tuned hoppy recipe please don't hesitate to pm me

Cheers

I'm sure this will hit the spot.
If someone brews it let us know how it turns out 👍

I love his description of a hoppy beer,it's so true
I have brewed both the Extra IPA, and the Totally Tropical IPA.

Both were incredible, and definitely among my best brews to date (I've only done 17). The Extra IPA was the better of the two. More hoppy, and more malty. The Totally Tropical was drier with a slightly lesser hop kick.

The Extra IPA is now finished, and began to lose its hop kick after about 6 months. I have 14 bottles of the Totally Tropical left, and I'll make sure and use them by the 6 month mark.

Incidentally I also brewed James's Tripel Threat Belgian, and it took 6 months to condition. It's now also an amazing brew.

Both the IPAs were better than many an IPA from recognised breweries. Although there are still some out there that are better.

I may brew this next once I set my brew shed up,just moved house and sick of buying beer, sounds good 👍 250g of hops is a first for me though

It's not the cheapest, I'll grant you that. But, god almighty, that feeling when the beer you make yourself in your own house being better than a lot of the stuff on the supermarket shelves, it's worth every penny
