Hey guys

Just wondering if anyone has used this website to order cornies before.

Also am I right in thinking that the common cornie is the 18 litre Coca-Cola keg with pin-lock valves including lid with pressure relief valve?

The ones that I have are Ball Locks &, if you are paying £70 plus for them you would probably be better going to Norm, he is UK based & often free delivery.

Mine are Ball Locks as well and came from Norm.

His are, I think the cheapest you can get and he usually throws in the Disconnects as well.

I think the Ball Locks are Britvics old kegs, and the Pin Locks are Coca Colas old kegs.

Ball Lock ones do seem more common, but I'm not sure there is any real reason that one is better than the other.

I think they are 19 Litre as well.

EDIT, as an update I have just received another 2 cornies from Norm, they are very good condition, one of them looks brand new. They came with 2 sets of disconnects, plus about 6 foot of beer line and 6 foot of gas line.

I have also got a Party tap, which I am just planning to use when I am flushing the kegs out.

That came to £117.00 including p&p, I think it was £103.00 for the 2 kegs, and 14.00 for the Party Tap

I joined this forum to see how people across the pond brew to compare our methods with yours. I can't believe the difference in prices for beer equipment. In the US ball lock cornies right now are selling for $30 (18 pounds). I picked up 35 of them a few years ago for $10 each (6 pounds).

Unfortunately most of the cornies here have been shipped to china and the prices are rapidly rising because they are getting more difficult to find and the amount of homebrewers has doubled in the last 5 years.

Norm often sells what he classes as budget cornies.

They are often a bit dented and bashed, but still work perfectly fine.

He sells these for £70.00 for 2, and includes one set of disconnects and some beer and gas line.

Thats about as cheap as you can get them over here in the UK.

... and that's just one example of why we often refer to our country as Rip Off Britain

templewater: Your profile doesn't give a location but if you are in the UK as everyone seems to be assuming, click on “Links” at the very top left, second listing down, get in touch with Norm, great bloke, good service, sensible prices.

You won't regret it, the Cornelius system really is the dog's ball locks

Coat please.

Quite a few of us have ordered from Candirect and have been pleased with the service.
The checkout procedure can sometimes be awkward, it can sometimes take them a while to reply to e-mails, but Stefan normally sorts that out.
The prices aren't bad, they also stock stuff you can't get here, like non return valves for the gas connectors.
I ordered a lot of new lids, poppets etc. Word of warning, if buying spare parts, and if in doubt, ask Stefan or the forum...there are specific poppets for specific posts etc :thumb:
