Can you use dried sloes for sloe gin ?

Ive just been loooking about on ebay and stumbled on the youngs dried sloes are these ok to use for sloe gin im wanting to get a bit of a head start at this so i will have a nice tipple for christmas

I remember using them about 30 years ago , if memory serves me well , they were almost as good as fresh ones.

I've got a batch on the go with dried sloes. It looks and smells good so far. Haven't tasted it yet though.
I started it in Feb, and plan to filter it into bottles sometime this month.

1 question does it matter if u add the sugar at the begining or after a week or 2 seen a couple of difrent recipes ?

Purists would say fresh sloes are better, but dried ones will do the job, I assume, given time.
