can you carbonate 'hard apple cider'?

I've seen the videos on youtube of people making the hard apple cider, the one done by 'craigtube' looks really easy to follow and you don't need alot of gear to make it.
I was wondering if after it has fermented, could you bottle it with some sugar to carbonate it? has anyone tried it? how long would you recommend leaving the bottles for if so?

Not entirely sure what 'hard cider' is to be honest, is it the same as the Turbo Cider that appears on here about a million times? If it is, yes you can prime with sugar when bottling. I have a batch that is conveniently ready for drinking today!

yeah will probably be the same thing, the video on youtube is with 3 litres of apple juice, sugar, yeast and he boils raisins and dates in a cup of water and adds that liquid aswell, turns out about 10% alcohol or something.
I've got a few litre bottle of magners in the house that I will fire it into!

Here's mine abey - although just about everyone and their dog have their own recipe and it is infinitely adaptable :D Some just use applejuice and yeast - and that's it. In fact, the definition of turbo cider is just that. Anyway... (19 - ish - ltr batch)

16 ltrs apple juice
3 ltrs raspberry juice

Simmer 340g honey in around 1 ltr of apple juice for 5 mins
Add 15 ltrs of juice to the fermenter
Add 1 cup of black tea
Add the juice with honey
Add 2 teaspoons pectolase
At around 25C, pitch the yeast, cover and shake well to aerate
Fit airlock.

Add the remaining juice (2.5 ltrs) once the yeast head settles a little – day or two.

It was in the primary for for a week, the secondary for a week and bottled for two (well - so far, the two weeks are up today)
Have fun .. my mother had a bottle last night and loved it .. she fell asleep soon after though ;)

Went well thanks ... it was loved thankfully ... still a little sharp so more tannin next time... but generally a success.

Sounds good...

Still being a newbie (and potential numpty) just wondering about the comment about up-ing the tanin content.

I am keen on using real wood barrels - someone I know said try it - and would real oak barrels give that tanin effect, and if yes, how long would you reckon it would take to get that effect? I bet it would also add great colour too, if it worked that is.
