I have a coopers irish stout. been in fermenter for 8 days, Hydrometer is 1.010 for 3 days running, very little airlock actuvity once every 3/4 mins, tastes ok HOWEVER there is still some fizzyness to the beer..... as i plan on using carbonation drops do i need this to go away b4 bottling?

can i bottle now?

You are best leaving it for about a week after fermenting. This allows firstly it to clear, not such a big problem with a stout. But secondly it allows the yeast to clean up after themselves, they will start eating some of the less desirable products of fermentation, producing a cleaner beer.

Once you have bottled leave it for about a week at fermentation temp then another week in a cool place. The longer you leave it the better, but with it being your first brew there will be no harm. I tend to leave mine a 4-6 weeks before drinking, it does make a difference.

So you would say the fizz wont be a problem when bottled and carbonation drops added? its very mild tbh
