Campden Tablets for Sterilizing

Would any one know how many campden tablets it takes to sterilize 5 gallon of water, and does the water need to be hot, I think i remember doing it with cold water in the past, but I'm not sure, and i cant remember how many tablets i used either.

I use 1/2 crushed campden tablet in 5 gallons water :thumb:

Isn't it about 4 or 5 tablets a litre for steralising?

Just gone out to the brewery to check for you.

You need 5 tablets per pint, so that's 200 tablets dissolved in hot water.

Are you sure you need 5g of sterilising solution?
