In the chaos of the current lockdown, I've misplaced the instructions from my california connoisseur pinot noir kit. I've seen the online instructions but I'm not convinced that they're the same. Certainly different visually.

Does anyone have a kit to hand that they could attach a pic or two of the instructions. Cheers

Hi

Just done one.

It's a big page, I'll try to do some photo's tomorrow.

The instructions are generic across the range so some bits apply, some don't.

Essentially:

Fill bucket with 2L of hot tap water (eh?). I did half recently boiled kettle, half cold.

Add Bentonite, mix well. Says 'It doesn't mix well.' (eh?) It didn't!

Add juice.

Top up to 23L. Stir well.

Sprinkle yeast on top. No mention of temperature but at this time of year, probably ok.

Leave 14 days.

To be continued ...

C :)

Here is a pic. Hope it helps.

Seems to have lost clarity after uploading.

Let me know if it isn't good enough and I can try it in 2 parts.

They did change the instructions a few months ago, (can't remember what the changes were!)
Unfortunately, California Connoisseur is no longer - re-branded as "On the House", and dropping a substantial number of varieties...

The link above meets what I had and the ingredient profile so I'm happy to go for it.

Thanks glove. I started mine on Monday, airlock bubbling merrily now.

There are a few words different between 10/11/18 in my bbe 2022 kit and 25/09/19 version linked. Big difference between Youngs linked 2008 version though! :)

And you are right VW, it seems cal con is no longer.

Cal Con, Kenridge and Atmosphere seem to have been 'upgraded' to Vineco Classic, Expert etc.

'On the House' seems to be the same replacement for WinExpert branding but I'm yet to follow that line fully.

As far as I can see, they must all be the same company, but I'm happy to be corrected if that's not so.

My concern is that £45/48 Kenridge 10L is now £49.95 8L!

Shrinkflation?

I'll hold my thoughts on that one for now.

Chris
