Not sure I would want one that close in case they have a fire

Just my twopenneth,
I have 2 kettle elements in my Nordic 70L stock pot boiler, each 2.2kW I think. I can quite easily get to boiling 65L almost immediately after the sparge (fly sparging for about 1hr30-1hr45). I use a timer switch to get my mashing water up to temperature which I set the night before.
Don't yet have the luxury of a HLT but will probably get another 70L stock pot with one element eventually.
Gas sounds good but you've got to be outside to be safe really. I think 100L is probably about the feasible limit for brewlength with 2 kettle elements which is fine for me, til I go professional

Did a small test today.

the burner in conjunction with the 0.5-2 bar reg got 30L of tap water (12c) to boiling in about 26mins, outside, in the wind....

So in the brewshed out of the wind it should a bit quicker (yes there is enough ventilation in there).

Just waiting for the beer belly stuff to arrive now, while I wait I might make one of Mr Malty's Whirlpool Immersion Chillers.

What do you reckon?

Lots of help with quotes and stuff thanks to all

Theoretically that works out at about 7 kw on the calculator vossy mentioned. Sound about right to me cos you have that big boy reg, but there are lots of losses.
How turned up was the reg ?

Looks ok to me but lots of expensive copper needed
Don't know if its a goer, but have you seen my idea for using a scrap combi boiler, plentiful and can be had very cheap :D
