Hello everyone, first post here and my second extract kit fermentation.
Everything went great for the first few weeks of the fermentation, however, now it has got stuck.
Fermentation started of good with a fast reaction and I maintained a temp of 22 degrees. Now I am at 18 days of fermentation and the gravity is staying Gravity is sitting at 1.2 for the last few days.
I have tried a few things, raising temp to constant 24 degrees and given a stir of the yeast to see if that woke it up. Nothing seems to have kicked the yeast back into life.
If the gravity is still at the same point once I get back tonight, I think I may need to do a yeast starter but unsure which yeast to use, I have also heard I may want to consider using a champagne yeast due to the ABV, however, I'm not that keen on the brut style beers so would prefer to avoid so as to not change the flavour profile.
Any suggestions or assistance would be greatly appreciated!
