I am trying my first glass of the Bulldog Bad Cat that fermented for 21 days and was bottled on 29-10-2014. It has a nice colour and very nice flavour. It is clear as a bell.

Although it came out at 7.7% it doesn't taste like a high alcohol beer (which could be dangerous).

Would definitely brew again probably for Xmas as it would certainly get house guests in the festive spirit very quickly :drink:

Looks superb, theres a thread on here where a couple of people had a bad experience with this kit.

Whats your method for brewing ie temps for ferment, storing and conditioning ect? Also what cleaner/steriliser do you use.

Also what sort of flavours would you suggest? Ive been put off this kit because of the high alch and peoples bad experiences.

Two Milton tablets in the fermentation bucket and rinse everything, pipes, airlock etc.

Fermentation bucket has a good quality aquarium heater which for this brew was set at 21 degrees C. Brewed with 2-3L extra of water in unheated garage but the garage is attached to the house and never freezes.

After 21 days decanted slowly into a bottling bucket with around 125g of light spraymalt (25g less sugar than recommended).

Bottled in Becks 660ml bottles (also Miltoned) which were crown capped and kept for three weeks in the house (in the dark) at room temperature then moved back into the (cool in summer, cold in winter) garage for storage.

I am not very good at describing flavours (I just know what I like!). At 7.7% it does taste like a high alcohol beer but not as much as I expected. It goes down like a session beer :-)

The beer is very good imo and it will probably get even better over the next few months.

Thanks for the info dude! I think i may swerve this one for a few more months and eventually do it but id probably brew it longer to get the ABV to around 6.5-6.8%

I've just got this one on the go this afternoon. I tried some at a Hambleton Bard open day and thought it was worth a go. I'm gearing up to go all grain but still keep finding kits I want to do!

Very interested in doing one of these as I like Amarillo beers. I'd go a bit longer too as 7+ is a bit high for me but nice to know it tastes good as is.
