You will have almost certainly forgotten about my quest to build a 3 vessel eHERMS rig a while back, if you saw it at all. While still very much ongoing, that project was stalled by a new baby and house purchase.

Unfortunately, the latter means that I have nowhere to brew. Fortunately, I have space to build somewhere. I'm creating a series of videos to document the progress towards making a hopefully efficient space to house that eHERMS rig when I can finish it. As an added bonus, the building will also house a taproom and a workshop.

You can view the first part below and I'll update the thread when the later parts come along. I'm about halfway through the next one now, and hope to have it out early/mid January.

Happy to hear ideas and share opinions and plans so far if anyone is interested!

Really good video and build. Did you consider putting in any windows

Thanks, I appreciate it. The original spec of the cabin I bought had windows but I had them build it without. I figure it's more secure this way, and I can always cut them in at a later date if I really miss the outside!

Looks amazing. I'm just about to repurpose the old outhouse; nowhere near as swish and I'll be sharing it with the washing machine and tumble drier. Looking forward to seeing how it progresses.

Great project. When I move house again I will do the same I think and another for my workshop. Just a thought, to stop the damn spiders and other critters moving in get some of this, its great, spider run when you spray the stuff.

Edit. You can also make it yourself from Peppermint oil, which I will be doing soon as hate the wee sods in my shed, especially since a tiny spider bit my toe.

The girlfriend insists that my Tarantula will be moving into the brew shed with me when we move. I don't think you'd like my brew shed.

Yeah that should be easy enough.
Hopefully moving in the coming here and a brewshed and pub is top of the list. Out of interest how much was that build?

If you came anywhere near me/my house/ shed with a bloody tarantula, you would be waking up in ITU

What are you planning for ventilation?

Ventilation has been my biggest challenge that I haven’t cracked yet in my new brew shed. You don’t appreciate how much steam you create when your doing a boil until your in a semi confined space. Especially one that’s mostly wood.......

Haven't you got the Speidel vented lid for your Braumeister? Seems like all you need is that lid, some 100mm pipe and an extractor fan on your wall.

Thanks for the questions all.

Cost for the shed alone was about £2400 delivered and erected (teehee).

Insulation is in my Wickes basket, just haven't pushed the button until the power is finished. I'm going with Rockwool for cost. That said, if you know of an eBay seller for ~70m2 for less than £250 that'd be great to know.

Ventilation wise my current plan is to go for the biggest kitchen extractor fan I can find in Screwfix (around 270m2 per minute) and putting it in the ceiling directly above the 3 vessels. Ideally that'll do it, but if I have to put another one in as well and build some sort of hood then I will go down that route as an upgrade in the future. Got to rein in costs for now!

Yeah I have all of that (BM vented lid) but what I’ve found is that you get condensate forming in the pipework before it’s extracted and also forming around the extractor as the volume of steam is really quite high.

I’m looking at steam condensers using cold water like you get on professional systems.

Any other ideas anyone?

Hoddy. There's a thread on the Braumeister forum that goes into a jet spray condensor which looks a reasonable way to go.

For ventilation what about a positive pressure fan system?

Or something like this

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-Indus...7&hash=item33c451ecfd:g:bTEAAOSwPfVZjAcV#rwid

All you are doing is creating an air imbalance with these systems , but you will need an aperture on the other side for clean colder air to enter the area. It is the same principle we used in the fire service to clear smoke logged buildings. Our fans were two stoke and wow did they clear smoke fast!
