Buffalo Thermal Cut-out

Just been reading an old thread about isolating the thermal cut-out on a Buffalo boiler. The author doesn't accept PMs but there was talk of unscrewing the pink sensor attached to the underside of the element. Any idea whether this worked?

This is the underside of the element - looks a bit different. Is it that little piece in the centre?

that certainly looks like it. I just unscrewed mine and taped it out of the way.

Hi, I had the same problem but i undid the cut out switch cut off the blade ends & connected the two wires into a heavy duty Block connector which i thought was safer.Not had any probs since :pray:

Just for clarification, does this modification still enable the thermostat to be used ? My buffalo has to double up as an HLT as well as a boiler.

Yes PB,doesn't effect the normal thermostat functions : ken.
