Got myself a Buffalo Induction Hob today in order to use the SS Brewtech kettle I got a year or so ago and discovered my cooker hob wasn't anywhere near powerful enough to boil 25lts+.

Anyway, if anyone has one of these portable hobs, how high do you turn the power? Full throttle? Three quarters? Or just adjust it to get a good rolling boil?

Currently I use it to sort my HLME to 73*C and hop tea/spraymalt in my 15l SS pressure cooker:cool: to do brews. 1000W max, but it has power a plenty as It is also our restaurant *itch working flat out every night boiling tatties and other catering duties in 30l pots. TBH It fooking rocks!

I would buy another tomorrow, just in case this one packs in,,,

In the winter season I will be mainly be exploring the possibilities in BIAB with my shiny new 50l SSpot. (tries to stop polishing it,,, )

I will also be removing temp hardness with a pump and sprayball then brew on!!!

It looks a beast of a unit. Took my by surprise when I opened it, but very impressed
 
Honest, do some tests with full pot it is so impressive. Most efficient way to heat your brewing liquor. I am planning to insulate my BV with Oak cladding to improve thermal efficiency and stability. It will also look cute,,, :whistle:

Finished my brew about an hour ago. The Buffalo Induction Hob was really quick to get 30ltrs to boil (from mash temp) and the boil was much more vigorous than my Cygnet boiler.

Lost about 6ltrs in 75 minute boil.

Really happy with it [emoji3]
 
I suppose the only difference is the pot. Maybe different gravities boil off at different rates
