Hi folks,

Do any of you remove your malt pipe when the sparge is virtually complete, and sit this in a bucket, to a) catch the last bits of wort the drip out, and b) stop it making a mess until you can empty it!

I’m struggling to find a food grade bucket with a base of 30cm to accommodate my Brewzilla Gen 4 malt pipe, and wanted to ask for advise or links to buckets that work for you.

cheers

Yes I do this, the still spirits brew bucket fits the Guten 70 malt pipe perfectly, it's 35 cm diameter.
I think that's a fairly standard brew bucket that's got their badge on it.

Is 30cm the diameter in the new 35litre gen 4 ?

Great thanks, will look them up.

re the malt pipe dimensions, the actual pipe is 26.5cm wide, but including the supports the stick out from the sides its 29cm external. So I figured a min of 30cm diameter at the bottom of a bucket for clearance.

The bucket is 30.5 cm at the bottom.

Just happens that my malt pipe fits perfectly into the top held by the lugs on the outside of the malt pipe.

I then can drain using the tap at the bottom any " late runnings ". But I can't dunk sparge with it.
