Which browser do you mainly use?

I have been using chrome for a long time but it seems to have lost its page loading speed recently, i have done the usual housekeeping on the PC so its not that causing it, having read a review or two i have decided to give Opera a try, i have installed it and enabled Opera Turbo, it is much faster and although it took a little getting used to i now prefer it to chrome.

If you have never tried it give it a go - https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&r...YIZ2mq1WZD8EnnkPBOJBpg&bvm=bv.124272578,d.ZGg

I mainly browse from my phone (occasionally iPad) so it's Safari for me. And an ancient Internet Explorer at work!

Chrome because it's one shared set of apps, favourites, history, passwords, form fill data, calendar, email, everything else, all synced between the four devices I use regularly.

I maybe should have stated non mobile in the OP as i can only list 10 options in the poll, on my phone i use Dolphin browser and Maxthon on my tablet.

Firefox, Maxton and IE all do that now... Chrome doesn't run Silver light and it's Adobe support is pathetic these days. Grab a copy of Firefox, far superior browser...

One of the reasons I use chrome still. Lazyness I suppose.

I used to use safari and Firefox, but chrome is on my mobile, so it's the one I use.

I feel old in that I've never heard of some of them :-( will have to test them out. ;-)

Chrome is native to Android and much better integrated than any of those you mention, none of them will run Keep, Drive, any of the Google producdivity apps, anywhere near reliably. Especially all using the same login, Windows 10 comes closest, but its browsers have been a weakness ever since Firefox ousted Netscape.

Chrome doesn't run Silverlight because that's been deprecated for four years now, which kind of shows you how far behind FF development is [doesn't even run on Windows phone let alone my galaxy]. Ten years ago FF had the edge but it's dev base is way too small now to keep up with the big boys. And wherever possible I stopped using Adobe products years ago, nasty flabby things that eat resources without asking.

IE is about to be superceded by Edge, which has no plugin availabilty at the moment, and anyway extensions rarely function properly in MS browsers. Not to mention the ****e page rendering because MS has always refused to accept standards. Way back in the day I used to have to code for Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers, and it was no fun, and it was always IEs fault.

Maxthon, why would I change years of configuration to get everything just so for something I've never even heard of?

My workplace security policies lock everything down except Chrome so I have no choice anyway.

In that case your configs are all the way screwed up. I run all the google apps through firefox and have literally NEVER had a crash or a problem. Ever. I use Google Docs, Drive and Gmail literally all day every day, and have for the last 5 years at least.

Just gonna point this one out here but the OP does state desktop browsers. Desktop. How are you running android as a desktop OS? If this is right, point it to me, it'll make playing Clash of Clans so much easier... I think I smell a web developer...

Yup, definitely a web developer...

One point we agree on, Edge is terribad, the fact that its designed as a clean browser kinda negates its usefulness to me, the fact that its on Windows 8.2 NSA edition means it will never see my machines. Ever. I don't want everything I do being sent to the US government thank you... I'll stick to my nice clean unmolested and properly patched Windows 7.

Up until January of this year I'd never heard of sparging, or all grain brewing, or Better Brews Czech Pilsner Kit... Not everything you've never heard of is a bad thing bud...

Mine did until I pointed out everything that doesnt run on Chrome to the IT guy. A couple of demonstrations later and firefox appeared on my desktop. No dramas now...

Arguing about browsers gets dull pretty quickly, but I can't help from pointing out that no, it doesn't say anything about platform in the OP. And on PCs Chrome runs natively, not on the Android OS but on, well, Chrome OS.

Who's arguing? I'm simply putting across my viewpoint? You're the one getting all defensive buddy... I'm gonna use the browser I'm gonna use, you're gonna use the browser your company tells you to. Pretty simple really.

Chrome adopts IEs Lan connections for Proxy, so if your work place uses a proxy on IT , it will go through on chrome too..

Google are not a cool company so i use firefox. Used to use Opera which is also good but had a few niggles. If you want to avoid google tracking everything you search use startpage.com instead. It uses google search engine via a proxy so they do not get to profit of you. Their CEO attends Bilderburg need i say more.

I have never been bothered that google can see what I am searching, how likely is it they choose to look at what I search when they have billions of users and even if they did watch me they would get bored very soon.

Don't other search engine providers do the same?
