Helo,

I am doing my second ever brew, doing an AG Mild. I have the mash in and will be boiling in the next hour or so. But as I was clearing up, disaster, I droped my hydrometer and it broke. Any suggestions, there are no brew shops near me open and no home brewers I can get a hold of.

Bad timing as well with the Christmas break. However its not a disaster, beers were being made successfully before hydrometers were being used
Stick rigidly with your recipe, if you are using some brewing soft wear you will have an idea of how it will turn out.
Watch your temperatures for mashing and fermenting, give it a little longer in the fermenter than you would normally do to make sure fermentation has finished.......and pray to the beer gods to be kind.. :D

Don't worry about it. Your only problem will be knowing when to stop sparging... when it no longer tastes sweet may be a good enough measure.

Just noticed the time... how did it go sans hydrometer?
