yes you read correctly they charged me £23,500 for september.

their estimate was above my reading so instead of taking off a unit or two they decided i had gone around the clock and used 100000 units of electricity and 10000 units of gas.

6% rise my arse my bill was £93 when they finally sorted it.

luckily i am anal about these things and check before the direct debts go through, or i would have been royally bent over and taken roughly.

but it's ok and i should just calm down I was alright in the end

british farce more like

Its about time they made estimates illegal, do what they are suppose to do and go and read the meters. Or get the householder to send his own readings in like I have to do each month ( besides having a meter that's outside for them to read easily ! ) however they do give me 100 nectar points a month for it.

Eon took monthly meter readings and still managed to bollox our bill up. when we first moved over to them they misread our initial meter reading, which added somewhere in the region of 600 quid to the bill

How they managed that i don't know.

Would like to see them rip me off now, flat i live in has a pound coin meter. Old is the best.

+1 for scrapping estimates. If power companies get the privilege of estimating my bill why dont i get the choice to estimate what my shopping costs? IE nothing :D

I'm with BG too. Luckily nothing of the sort has happened to me so far, but one time they did debit my account twice. However their customer support was quite helpful and they refunded the extra amount very quickly.
