Or we could watch the Brewers get steadily more p*ssed as they drank home brew while making home brew.

Sadly as I always brew early in the day if I followed this law I'd confirm my wife's suspicions hat I am borderline alcoholic

Dear Mrs GHW,

I am pleased to confirm your other half is not borderline alcoholic.

after all why would he wait a number of weeks to get his alcohol fix by brewing his own when he could nip down to your local (insert supermarket chain here) and buy a pile of booze?

Yours Sincerely,

someone you drinks a lot more than your other half.

(hope this helps )

It's a lovely gesture, but I suspect futile.

On the subject or wringing every last drop from a TV format I see that the BBC have started showing 'Phone Shop Idol' to find the best mobile phone salesperson in the country.

If there is scheduling space for dross like this why not something on Brewing and wine making. There was something on Discovery a while ago but not much else.

Yet another show I will not be watching, as the years go by I get less and less value from the licence fee, if the BBC was a racehorse it would have been shot by now.

There is SOOOOOO little on TV now that me and Mrs Notlaw actually watch now. We watch films and some series off Netflix, but very little off terrestrial TV. We did watch that Pottery Throwdown show, as our lass has 2 potting wheels and even did her degree in glass and ceramics, so that was a show that interested us. Beyond that, most of what we watch is on Netflix...

I would definitely watch a show about brewing though. There was that show last year about Marstons.... that was ok.

I think would be a great idea for a show as long as the contestants where all complete novices and numpties. I know I would make entertaining viewing.

BTW - I get rid of my TV licence a few years back, it's an anachronism in 2016. Anything we watch is on YouTube, Catch-up TV or DVD. Only a matter of time before the license is scrapped and iPlayer etc. become subscriptions based services. Sorry to hijack the thread but licenses were mentioned.

I haven't got a TV. Mrs MQ recently filled in the form to ask to excempt us from the TV liscence

Do you watch TV any other way?

There isn't much on TV but there are certain things i watch regularly and would miss if i had no TV.

No. Not really. Very occasionally I'll read about a programme on iplayer, in the commuter paper that I think I might like to watch but then I'll watch for about ten minutes and get bored so turn it off

We had a "bakeoff" competition at work, with people making cakes, and them being judged (just a one-off), then they were sold for charity.
I did suggest a "Brewoff" would be possible, but as there is a "no alcohol at work" policy there's not much chance of that!

no alcohol at work is a bit of a bummer , because our server room is kept at 21deg c constantly which is ideal for HB. I'd love to have a few fv's on the go in there

and the co2 given off would act as a fire suppression system - win - win

Maybe "Homebrewing Live" with Dara O'Briaiaiaiain and Dr Brian Cox would be a better format... feel free to replace the presenters

Seeing as the idea was mine in the first place I'm going for Rachel Riley and Philippa Forester (circa 1992). Richard madely for the ladies' interest. Something for everyone there I think.

That last bit about CO2 is the best excuse I have ever heard for brewing beer but bosses have no creativity or sense of humour!

That'd be nigh on impossible because of the time it takes to brew and condition certain beers. It'd be pretty tedious viewing too, as much as I enjoy making and drinking beer.

I once accidentally tuned in to Big Brother and they had the cameras running to film a house full of sleeping people.

THAT has to be the ultimate in "tedious viewing" (I lasted 10 seconds max before switching channels), but they were showing it and even more bizarre is the fact that somewhere in the UK there were some poor sad people who were actually watching it intentionally!

Poor souls!

Gotten strangely addicted to brewing.tv over the past week. Although it does degenerate into a "how much can we mash/hop before it get's stuck" competition on most brew-days.
