That , and the prize - you get to sign away the rights to your recipe for them to market , all for the price of 9 gallons of beer .
I may be cynical but it seems like a win-win for the brewery and very little for the lucky winner . Apart from sitting in pubs telling people "See that pint you got ? I designed that , I did "....and getting treated like the local delusional 'I coulda been somebody' pub bore .
Nice to see the old building back in use . I lived in Bedminster for years and used to collect my mate from work at the Bonded Warehouse next door . The workers got to buy damaged good , trays of bottles with one smashed , cans with dents etc , so my mate Andy needed a lift cos there was no way he could carry all we had clubbed together to buy . My Cortina sagged badly .
At the time we had built a pub bar in our basement....a WW2 themed one . Some of us worked in architectural antiques so the panneling and woodwork was easy , plus loads of period knick knacks we had picked up on jobs . Others worked in pubs and night clubs so cellar equipment was easy enough . Great fun was had by all until too many found out and trouble about running a speakeasy reared its head .
I know its not on the OP subject but it IS south bristol brewing related so I will try to find some pictures .
