Thanks Guys!

The credit goes to the three chaps that chipped in and bought the brewery and have kept Me informed of their progress thus far.

It has given My Morale a bit of a boost tosay the least.

If each of My customers only brewed once then at least 2640 pints have been brewed and drunk as a result of My mad scheme some 18 months ago.

Hi all. Thought I would pop in as it was me that took most of the pictures.
We made some adjustments on the fittings to suit the area we are working in. We mounted the pump onto a board and have since covered it up further so it is well protected.
I think it's fair to say you have to know what you are doing when the kit arrives but between us we didn't have the knowledge or expertise to source the components ourselves.

We have since done another brew with no problems. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this for anyone who is looking to 'up-scale' a bit. Also you can keep going back and asking more questions, BZ doesn't just forget about you as soon as he gets your money!

We realise we have enough space for an even bigger kit and would love to get one but we had to save like buggery just to get this one! Also we are still pretty inexperienced so if anything goes wrong at least we have 'only' lost 80-100 litres (!)

BZ - I have added your contact details to our front page.

cheers.

Hi Adam,

I am as pleased as punch to get a positive testimonial from a highly valued customer and fellow brewer.

I look forward to hearing how things go with future brews.

I do try to go the extra mile.

Always a pleasure.

That's a lot of fittings BZ
I'm sorely tempted by the ss qd's, but for once I can't justify it

They are for a 4 vessel brewery with dual pumps. It is a lot but just enough to allow for the configuration I imagine it being used. :)

I've been asked to fit cooling coils to the fermenter which has had me scratching My bonce a bit. Came up with a solution eventually. The coils will be attached to a glycol cooling system which required Me to ensure the connections would not leak and contaminate the wort.

Didn't know you'd moved on to include fv's. A product coil mounted with the connections externally does the job nicely :thumb:
Personally, when I make the switch to ss fv's I'll be going for twin skins or a cooling jacket. I'm fed up with anything inside the fv holding yeast which is released on racking.

As You know I normally double the HLT as a fermenter but I've been asked to provide a dedicated fermenter for the latest project.

I've searched high and low for a fitting to do what I wanted so went with the setup below.

The point which the product coils pass through the pot wall will be above the 85L mark and the coils will be just below the surface of the wort. Not sure whether to use two coils or one for a 100L fermenter. They are mainly there for crash cooling.

I use a twin product coil supplied by a python line for 60ltrs fv fill. It cools at a rate of 0.8 deg c every 5 mins, so around 9.6 deg c per hour. Hope that helps.

Cheers for that vossy! I should expect 85L to drop by 6.8 deg c per hour with a twin coil setup.

That should mean that from a Fermentation temp of say 20 deg c I can expect it to drop to around 6 deg c in two hours.

That will let Me sleep a little more easily tonight.

Here's the latest 100L brewery.

Just got to fit insulation to the Mashtun,Fermenter and make the filters now.

Do you get the MMP3's for a good price BZ?

Hi Vossy,

I did get a good price on three of them.

The 3rd is for the next project which I'll be starting in around a week or so.

Glad to hear that BZ. I've had some horrendous prices quoted to me lately, including the MMP-3
Luckily, I've found the Totton GP 20/12 to be a far cheaper alternative

EDIT...BZ you've used a few pumps, would you fancy adding your experiences to the pump reviews topic?

BZ see above post :thumb:

I've recently been quoted £223.96 for a Totton GP 20/18.....+ £8.50 C+D, + VAT, 15mm ports.
£239.42 for the 1/2" threaded port version, plus C&D + VAT
