Hi all,

just wondering if anyone knows of any UK stockists for brewzilla apart from Angel Homebrew and BrewKegTap?

thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Ive not found any other stockists of the Brewzilla in the UK. I’ve been thinking about ordering one for a while but when I finally decided I was going to do it (and tell the wife I’ve had it all along) the pre orders had all gone.

From previous history and things I’ve seen on social media Angel Homebrew seem to order about every six months and this time he’s sold them all preorder.

BrewKegTap have similar ordering windows so I guess them come in on the same ship.

I think our only hope is someone cancelling a pre-order or it’s a Christmas present to ourselves.

Beginning to wonder about that. Also beginning to wonder if the Klarstein ones and related clones are so much worse that it's worth a 6 month wait, or if it's possible to hack a Grainfather or Brewzilla controller into them...

I’m in a similar situation. Kicking myself for not ordering one a couple of months ago! I emailed Paul at Angel Homebrew, he is expecting the next order in August.

I’ve now got the dilemma of deciding whether to wait for the Brewzilla or to go for a Klarstein/Hopcat

I'm with you there Thinbo. Experience of buying inferior products vs impatience.... And the new Hopcat is huge at 45l, that's a lot of beer to work your way through if it's less than spectacular. To me a quality 10 or 15 litre system would be more of a hobby, but doesn't seem to be catered for except for by Klarstein at the "suspiciously cheap" end of the market, or Speidel at the lottery-win end....

Initial plan was to get "one thing, that just works", so guessing I should just calm down and buy another decent extract kit in the interim. And remind myself that having to take constant manual temperature readings and try and trick an automated system into keeping the right temperature would be a far greater PITA than using a pan and gas burner...

I own one of the cheaper ones, so far it has been ok, i have had no problems with it, as for hacking in a pid controller, there is a italian company that specialises in a purpose built controller for the cheaper guten type brewers, it comes with everything you need including a new cover plate where the old controller went, unfortunately you have to email him and he will mail you back when he has them in stock, last time i looked with postage from Italy it came to £160, you can see them on youtube, type in smart pid controller and it should come up.

Cheers for the heads up DaveP
“Late August at the earliest” for delivery
I don’t know if I’m that patient!

The SmartPID also integrates with BrewFather software very nicely

Thanks for that, already put money down with Angel. Bugger. Never mind, just got 2 extract kits ready to drink within the last week, and another in the post :-)
