Checking my notes the kit was started on the 14th July and bottled on 17th July!

Temperature would have been 20-22 i guess, i don't have any recollection of over doing it temp wise. It was in the garage, and i may have used an immersion heater if i though it was going to be cold.


3 days? - that would be the problem re: sediment :roll:
 
I have just brewed a Brefwerm Christmas and I am ready to bottle, but I noticed a nice looking Glass Dispenser in my local Sainsburys and was wandering if this or the Kilner original would be a suitable receptacle.

I went to 1020 after 10 days, racked it and have let it stand airlocked cold for 14 days.I am not considering priming.(should I?)

1020 is a little high for that. I've had a 1072 that I bottled at 1019 and less priming sugar than normal with a few turns of the bottles turned out well!
 
thanks, i will take a reading before deciding on priming, but it does say not to, but that was at 1020, it may have dropped. Can anyone advise on wether this would be suitable to use for bottling please? I will be drinking it in one go with friends next winter.

amazing, cos I have a sheet for brewing the xmas beer which says no fermerntor additions and 7 g/l for priming.

mine was in the abbey beer I brewed this time last year. which suggested 500g of candi sugar (rather than brewing sugar) in the fv and 7g/l - its turned out great BUT not much fizz. I suppose the health of the yeast in the kit is what made the difference, because the intructions were followed to the letter. (it was only by 2nd brew at that stage!) oh those were the days :rolleyes:

I have bottled high eg. 1019 with less priming sugar. my 7% beer was actually 7.35% abv when I degassed and re-tested it.
