hi, not sure if this is the right place for this or not, but here goes.
im off to somerset on saturday, wells to be exact, and while there were looking to visit a brewery or possibly cider brewery.
are there any in the area that are open and worth visiting?

Thanks in advance!

whereabouts? Rich's Cider Farm is great and the cheese wheels are to die for :) I'd double check with any cider farms that they are producing cider by ringing ahead though, otherwise you won't be able to see anything!

It's up near Burnham On Sea.

If you go to Glastonbury, there's a cafe there near the square called something to do with lizards...it's brilliant in there, some of the best food i've ever had!

I'll check with me bruv tomorrow, he lives in Street. I always pick up some cider from Hecks when I am down there.

Their perry is fantastic! Reminds me of my cottage holidays. They said they would sell me a 25 pint batch for about £40, I got very tempted :p

I will be visit Somerset too. I will only be there on a day trip from Bristol (I will be going to the Bristol Winter Cider Festival 2012) and I was also considering visit a cider brewery.

During my research I found this website:

This should give you a couple of options/ideas

Let us know which one you will visit and how it will be :thumb:

Take care

Hex's is fantastic - straight out of the barrel stuff, into 5 litre plastic bottles, or take your own pressure vessel and they will fill it for you. try the kingston black cider its well worth it. their flat perry is pretty special too.

The somerset cider brandy company at bourough hill is amazing - http://www.ciderbrandy.co.uk/ i was up there for apple day. again do cider from the barel, have pressings going on at the moment.

glastonbury ales http://www.glastonburyales.com/ is very small brewery but always very nice (if your at hex's then your about 10mins away from somerton where there based) but run odd hours - beer by the bottle and 10&20 litre boxes.
