I'm still a novice at this but after brewing a few Coopers ales/lager which have been drinkable, if not spectacular, I've been trying to brew some cider for the wife.

However, it been fermenting now for about 2 weeks and still hasnt reached the 998 SG suggested for bottling (should take about 7 days)
It also smells a bit yeasty and doesn't taste very appley.

I suspect the temperature has dropped too low for the yeast to remain active as that end for the kitchen is cooler - especially at night
I tried a heating pad in a bid to raise the temperature and it did drop the SG a bit more - its now about 1000 - but that is not regulated and is time limited to 90mins

Should I

a) dump it
b) add more cider yeast and wait
c) use the immersion I've just bought to regulate the temperature and wait
d) bottle it now and hope for the best

All advice gratefully received

OK, not too many cider makers here then - or they are all too busing brewing or drinking it.
This is academic now - I decided to bottle it anyway & hope for the best so I could get back to brewing beer!
