Hi there,

I started my first brew yesterday, a Cooper's Candian Blonde, but the temperature this morning was quite low in the fermenter. My house is quite cold as we don't use central heating, so I have a brew belt on the fermenter but it somehow turned itself off last night and when I checked it this morning the thermometer on the fermenter was reading ~12°C. I got the belt working again and when I left the house it had risen to ~14°C, so I'm hoping it will have reached about 18 by the time I get home but I'm just wondering will this have done any damage to my brew?

Thanks in advance for your help!

be careful of brew belts , they often reach 27c (why they are designed at this temp i'll never know) well mine did .

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah I've heard already about brew belts getting the brew too hot, so I'll be checking on it pretty regularly.
