Brew number 2 - Coopers Australian Lager

I primed my 500ml PET bottles and 568ml magners bottles with 1.5 Tate and Lyle sugar cubes from Tescos. 98p for 500g packet. The PET bottles are brick hard after a week. The 330ml tester bottles, I used 1 cube. I opened one on friday and it was nice. Gonna test another tomorrow and if fizzy enough, I'll put the rest in cold storage.

I'm going in to Wilkos today to buy their lager with the free brewing sugar.

BTW the cubes went in the PET bottles no problem, but the glass bottles have smaller openings and the cubes had to be halved in two. I got a new FV so will now batch prime. Tescos are selling a FV for £7.26 with no lid.

Nice one cheers. Are you opening at your usual 6am time after work? If so, please let me know how they turn out. I'll be bottling tomorrow night with a bit of luck. I got some normal granulated sugar to do them, but i'm sure I can find other uses!

I'm new to all this. IN the Coopers 500ml PET's was it 1 sugar cube, or 1 and a half?!

Edit: One carb drop or 1.5? If you used them when you got your Coopers kit, which do you think worked best?

Well my first brew I used 1.5 coopers carb drops and the second used 1.5 sugar cubes. My mate thinks the first was better. The second was more gassy but still lovely, just took longer to pour. These where in 500ml PET bottles and also 568ml Mangers bottles. This was for lager. Ale uses less as it doesnt need to be as gassy. 1 for beer and ale.

I just bought more carb drops, so will use them for time being as its easier for me just now.
