My son bought me this it's not the best brew dog I have had lovely nose on it but very thin and watery nope not for me

3.8% isn't it? I think it is a magnificent beer, and one of the best sub-4%. Saucery by Magic Rock just tips it for me. All about different tastes though.

Maybe you didn't get a fresh bottle. Had one yesterday and it was really hoppy and nice to drink.

Had a bottle the other day and came to the same conclusion. Amazing aroma, not much after that. I could name 101 standard Bitters that have more flavour and body at 3.8%. Odd, considering the +20% of crystal malts in the grist. Not an unpleasant beer, but I've had much better sub 4% American style pale ales.

Nope - not for me either. I totally agree with "thin" - a shame because it's nicely hopped. Nothing to do with the alcohol level, for me, just lack of body. I've only had it once when my son came to visit, but fortunately there were a few bottles. So I ended up stirring a small teaspoon of maltodextrin into each glass. A wonderful transformation - not only did the maltodextrin increase mouthfeel, but it also acted as nuclei to disperse the absurdly high level of dissolved CO2. Result, a better balanced beer that wasn't ridiculously fizzy.
Wouldn't buy it myself, though, as its easy to brew better.

My favourite beer - fantastic. By the way, tried Hazy Jane Brewdog the other night - it is unfiltered therefore has a pile of sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Not impressed with that one. Have gone through a fair chunk of the Brewdog range now but still hunting around for ones I have not tried.

It's totally sh1te. Fizzy hop water as you say. Nanny state is a lot better and that's saying something. Otherwise I'd say brewdog generally turn out really good beers.

Had a can of Hazy Jane from Tesco's (£3!) yesterday. Really expected a lot more from it but it really didn't have much going on, not unpleasant but not really a proper NEIPA.

Think they might have got a little bit too big for their boots. Punk IPA isn't what it once was.

I like Dead Pony Club. Nicely hoppy. I'd be happy if I brewed a beer just like it but wouldn't leave it for months or the flavour is bound to deteriorate.

I had a 4-pack of Punk recently that was unpleasantly bitter. I thought something was up with my taste buds until I had another can the following evening. The aromatic quality you'd normally associate with Punk wasn't there either. It's definitely a consistency thing as I had a bottle the other day and it was spectacular. I suppose there is going to be some variation of ingredient quality, but there is no excuse for stuff like that.
